On November 17, 2025, Legislative Health and Human Services Committee Chair, Rep. Liz Thomson, and Vice Chair, Sen. Linda Lopez, presented a list of committee appropriation requests to the Legislative Finance Committee. Among them was included continued funding for the cost drivers project.

It updates members on the cost drivers work that has been accomplished thus far, including the findings from Moller on lowering drug prices, UNM on the burdens of billing, an upcoming report from Columbia University's Dr. Laugeson on how to simplify this costly system, and more.
It also specifies two funding requests: $1 million for the cost drivers project and $250,000 for the creation of the long-needed NM Health Expenditure Database (which has already been recommended and designed in a report from NMSU's Arrowhead Center and UNM's Bureau of Business and Economic Research).
