HB 575 Passes House Floor!

The Health Security Plan Analysis Act (HB 575) passed the full House of Representatives on the evening of March 14! The final vote count was 37 to 27, with three representatives absent and three excused.

HB 575 sponsor Rep. Bobby Gonzales (pictured above) introduced the bill, and he and co-sponsor Rep. Debbie Armstrong responded to questions on the floor. They both deserve accolades for pushing the bill through, and the house leadership also merits appreciation for their strong support of the bill. Without the commitment of these legislators, this victory wouldn't have been possible.

HB 575 was reported to the senate on March 15 and assigned to one committee--Senate Finance. While the legislative session ends soon, there is still time to get HB 575 to the senate floor.
